  • 12 to 10 Ton

The CM Hurricane 360° is unlike any other hand chain hoist on the market today. Featuring a one-of-a-kind hand chain cover, the CM Hurricane 360° provides flexibility and versatility for challenging applications.

The Hurricane’s patented hand chain cover rotates a full 360 degrees, allowing loads to be lifted, positioned or pulled from virtually any angle – even in confined spaces. It also permits the operator to stand safely away from the load, helping to prevent accidents and injuries.

Benefits & Features

Patented Hand Chain Cover

Unique rotating hand chain cover allows the chain to rotate a full 360 degrees for safe and efficient operation from any direction. Cover design promotes smooth movement of the chain.

Haven’t actually used this hoist yet but it does exhibit all the quality feel of other CM hoists that I have used in the past. I am confident that it will be equal to those. I liked the multidirectional operator features of this particular model. My review is more for the quality and expedient experience of doing business with Hoist Zone. A good 1st time transaction with good tracking information and service. Thanks!

Hoist is nice, BUT MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT ONE. They charge a 35% restocking fee. which the way i understood it and how it was explained to me is you pay 35% of the cost of your order, under 1000 (orders under 1000us dollars) to restock the item. That is highway robbery. In my opinion thats poor customer service, but business is business

How do I perform a hook inspection?

Examine hooks for the following:

  • Missing or illegible hook manufacturer’s identification or secondary manufacturer’s identification
  • Missing or illegible rated load identification
  • Excessive pitting or corrosion
  • Cracks, nicks, or gouges
  • Wear—any wear exceeding 10% (or as recommended by the manufacturer) of the original section dimension of the hook or its load pin
  • Deformation—any visible apparent bend or twist from the plane of the unbent hook
  • Throat opening—any distortion causing an increase in throat opening of 5% not to exceed 1/4” (6mm), or as recommended by the manufacturer
  • Inability to lock—any self-locking hook that does not lock
  • Inoperative latch (if provided)—any damaged latch or malfunctioning latch that not close the hook’s throat
  • Damaged, missing, or malfunctioning hook attachment and securing means
  • Thread wear, damage, or corrosion
  • Evidence of heat exposure or unauthorized welding
  • Evidence of unauthorized alterations such as drilling, machining, grinding, or other modifications

If signs of any of those listed above are visually apparent, then use of said hook is mandated to be out of service until proper repair by qualified personnel has been performed.

How often should I perform a hook inspection?

In order to ensure your safety, the ASME requires hooks to be periodically inspected once a month. If a professional recommends even more often, then this supersedes the periodic monthly inspection.
